What I'm Up to

Congleton

Hi!
Last night, I was at the
Conservative party open primary selection meeting for the safe seat of Congleton, and no, while I am a political junkie, I wasn’t there just for the heck of it. My mum, Fiona Bruce (not the newsreader) was up for selection.

It was
great fun, and the atmosphere was intense, but the result was crystal clear. My mum (Fiona Bruce) won the selection on the first ballot, and reportedly with a ‘landslide majority’. Many congratulations to her, and here’s to a great future MP in Congleton!

It was also
fantastic to meet up with my good friends Mike and Jacqui from London.

See ya soon!

Youth Speaks

Hi again!
I’m very
pleased to announce that I, along with my good friends and team mates Abi Watson and Naomi Bell, were the local winners of the Youth Speaks competition. It’s a public speaking competition organised by the Rotary Club.

The competition took place Today, the
18th November, and was fierce. The chairman of adjudicators reported that it was ‘the most difficult [to judge] ever’.

We decided to speak on
Philosophy, and more precisely, logical argument. Our key goal was to ‘convince the audience of the certainty of deductive arguments’.

We all had a
great evening, and there were excellent entries from Sir John Dean’s college, Greenbank School, Hartford High, as well as my 6th form college, The Grange School.

It was a fantastic event, and my
personal thanks go to the Northwich Rotary Club for organising the event, Mid Cheshire College for facilitating it, and all of the other participants.

See ya soon!
